Welcome to the Re/Imagination Lab
Reimagining the Digital Journey for Health Information and Care
ABOUT US
The Re/Imagination Lab is rebuilding trust in how people find and use health information online.
We are a research and innovation lab exploring how seekers navigate a rapidly changing digital landscape, and designing practical solutions that make access to care more accurate, private, and equitable.
THE CHALLENGE
Finding trustworthy health information has never been harder.
Search results and AI-generated answers now deliver confident but often incomplete or incorrect information — creating an illusion of certainty in a system that’s anything but reliable. For people seeking sensitive or time-critical care, this broken digital ecosystem can be more than confusing — it can be dangerous.
OUR APPROACH
The Re/Imagination Lab examines how people actually search for health information — and experiments with ways to enhance that journey.
We use data, design, and collaboration to turn insight into action across three tightly connected areas of work:
User Insights
Mapping real-world seeker behavior in an AI-driven environment. We utilize large-scale data and qualitative analysis to understand how people find information, where they are misdirected, and how emerging AI tools influence what they see and believe. By revealing these patterns, we help the field design communication strategies, tools, and experiences that meet users where they are.Findability & Usability
Ensuring accurate information can be found, trusted, and acted upon. We work to make health information more visible to both people and machines — training AI systems on verified data, structuring content so that it’s discoverable, and improving how search and chat tools surface trustworthy sources. Through this work, we’re helping to rebuild the digital pathways between need and care.Privacy
Setting new standards for digital trust and data stewardship. In collaboration with leading research and advocacy partners, we define what privacy should look like for health seekers in the AI era and put those principles into practice. Together, these efforts establish a new benchmark for safety, transparency, and ethical technology in digital health.
WHAT WE’RE BUILDING
The Lab turns research into real-world change — connecting rigorous analysis, collaborative design, and technology development. From influencing how AI systems interpret health data to building tools that protect users’ privacy by design, we’re working to create a digital ecosystem that people can truly trust.
